Jail Administrator, Brian Curran, is responsible for the daily operation of the Adams County Jail with the Adams County Sheriff having ultimate authority and responsibility for the jail.
Officially opening in 2020, the 192-bed facility is separated into eight pods, a separate work release section, a booking area that includes a negative pressure room, and a nursing station.

The Adams County jail population report is available via the Daily Population Sheet. This document is updated each morning around 6:00am and is not considered to be accurate throughout the day.
The Adams County Jail cannot confirm information of any US Marshall's inmates. All inquiries regarding individuals being held for the US Marshalls can be directed to the US Marshall's Service at (217) 429-4227.
Commissary
To better serve the public and make it more convenient to add money to an inmate's commissary account, a kiosk is available at the east Jail Visitation entrance. Simply enter the inmates’ name and follow the prompts. The kiosk is accessible 24 hours a day and accepts credit/debit cards and cash. The kiosk does not accept dollar bills. Funds can also be added by visiting JAILATM.COM. Money orders are no longer accepted.

Phone time
To add funds to an inmate’s phone/chirper account. A kiosk is available at the east Jail Visitation entrance. The kiosk is accessible 24 hours a day and accepts debit/credit cards and cash. For your added convenience you can call 1-877-5678 or visit inmatesales.com
**It is strictly prohibited to connect a call from an inmate to another phone number through 3-way calling or piggybacking phones. Violating this may result in the called number being permanently blocked from the facility.
For Bond Purposes
There are two ways to post bond for an inmate:
- Calling 1-800-352-9870 code 1008.
- Visit the Circuit Clerk’s Office during their regular office hours, or after hours bond will be taken at the QPD entrance for an additional $15 fee.
Prison Rape Elimination Act
The Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) is a federal law that prohibits sexual misconduct in correctional settings such as prisons, jails, lockups, juvenile facilities, and immigration Services/ICE detention facilities. Sexual misconduct under this law includes:
- Offender-on offender sexual assault and abuse
- Staff-on-offender sexual misconduct (sexual/inappropriate relationships with offenders)
- Offender-on-offender and staff-on-offender sexual harassment
