What We Do

  • Counsel, advise, guide, assist and generally help veterans (and their families), that live within Adams County Illinois, in obtaining benefits and services that are available to them by local, county, state and federal organizations. The VACAC will also help direct them to the appropriate resources and provide educational material that would be beneficial to the veteran and their family.   
  • Investigates and conducts interviews with veterans and their dependents to obtain a comprehensive case history in order that eligibility for assistance can be determined.
  • Assists veterans and dependents in the office, and the offices of other public and private agencies, in the preparation and follow-up of applications for local, state, and federal benefits and/or assistance. 
  • Communicates with members of the VACAC and representatives of other local, state, and national agencies to determine status or explain circumstances for assistance. 
  • Establish, prepare, and maintain all work records and continued follows up on all case files. 
  • Acts are the best interest of the VACAC office and will be the primary liaison with other veteran service agencies, VACAC Collaborative members and their partners.
