POSITION TYPE, HOURLY RATE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
Full-time; $17.89 per hour; Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
SUMMARY
Provides clerical assistance in the Circuit Clerk’s Office.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Answers telephone and provides information to the public.
- Greets visitors and directs them to proper office or courtroom.
- Performs a variety of clerical duties such as data entry, scanning, filing, faxing, and copying.
- Attends court, swears witnesses, and processes court documents.
- Handles confidential matters daily relating to all cases of the Circuit Clerk’s office.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information to the public, co-workers, and other employees of the County. Requires good knowledge of the English language and spelling. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent. Prefer two years of clerical experience with the ability to prioritize assignments and organize work efficiently. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products. Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk; or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
