Adams County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for Control Room Operator (CRO).
Summary
This is a civilian position that works strictly in the main control room of the Adams County Jail with no direct inmate contact. Responsibilities include closely monitoring inmate activities; open and close security passages to allow movement of officers and inmates through computer control; and capable of quick response in emergency situations. Additional duties and responsibilities include answering phone calls, verifying warrants, listening to and speaking on a portable radio and speaking to the public.
The jail is a 24/7 operation that includes day or night, weekends and holidays. Applicants must be willing to accept any assignment or shift, and work any scheduled holiday. Must be at least 18 years of age, and able to pass a thorough background check and drug testing. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Position type and expected hours of work:
1st Shift – 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
2nd Shift – 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
3rd Shift – 11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
Hourly Rate: $17.60 per hour (11pm-7am shift will receive $0.50 shift differential)
