Notice of Proposed Property Tax Increase for Adams County, Illinois.

 I.          A public hearing to approve a proposed property tax levy increase for the County of Adams, State of Illinois for 2023 Tax Year will be held on December 5, 2023, at 6:00PM (CDST) at the Adams County Courthouse Room 2D located at 507 Vermont Street, Quincy, IL. 62301. Any person desiring to appear at the public hearing and present testimony to the taxing district may contact Ryan A.  II.        The corporate and special purpose property taxes extended or abated for 2022 were $11,710,911.04 of the final aggregate levy as extended, plus the amount abated by the taxing district prior to extension.  The proposed corporate and special purpose property taxes to be levied for 2023 are $12,290,000. This represents a four-and-nine-tenths percent (4.9%) increase over the previous year.

 III.      The property taxes extended for debt service and public building commission leases for 2022 were zero dollars ($0.00).  The estimated property taxes to be levied for debt service and public building commission 2023 are zero dollars ($0.00). This represents a zero percent (0%) increase over the previous year.

 IV.       The total property taxes extended or abated for 2022 were $11,710,911.04.   The estimated total property taxes to be levied for 2023 are $12,290,000.  This represents a four-and-nine-tenths percent (4.9%) increase over the previous year.
